Ans. Tom heard from a doctor that a certain ailment could lay up a patient for three days and make him loose a finger.

2. How did Aunt Polly react to the news that Tom was dying?

Ans. When Aunt Polly learned of Tom’s death, she didn’t believe it at first, but she became anxious.

3. How was Tom’s loose tooth taken out?

Ans. Aunt Polly tied one end of the silk thread to Tom’s loose tooth and the other end to the bedpost and then she pulled the thread and the tooth came out.
