World Tourism Day has been celebrated since 1980 at the initiative of the United Nations World Tourism Organization. On September 27, 1970, the World Tourism Organization adopted its own rules. Therefore, this day is considered to be very high in the field of tourism. World Tourism Day provides awareness among the international community about the role of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic importance. Since 1997, a particular country has been entrusted with the responsibility of organizing World Tourism Day. Specifying some geographical locations for this purpose.is taken. Accordingly, it was decided to celebrate World Tourism Day centrally in Europe in 2006, South Asia in 2007, America in 2008, Africa in 2009 and Middle East in 2011. The theme of this day in 2011 was tourism related to culture.
