Answer:- He saw a man was running towards him and the man was very frightened. They said the news to Louis that someone had been bitten by a mad wolf from the mountain. Louis knew that the wolf was suffering from rabies.

b) What does rabies cause in human beings?

Answer:- Rabies is a viral disease that causes inflammation of the brain in humans and other mammals.

c) What experiment did Pasteur conduct on rabbits?

Answer:- He treated the ailing rabbits by injecting them with the same virus and succeeded in curing them.

d) Who was Pasteur’s first human patient? Was his treatment successful?

Answer:- His first human patient was a school boy who was bitten by a mad dog. His treatment was successful as the boy slowly fully cured.

e) Where and when did the French government establish the Pasteur Institute? What is it famous for?

Answer:- In 1888, the French government founded the Pasteur Institute in Paris. It is famous for the study of biology, micro-organisms, disease and vaccines.
