Kharua Brinjal/Katahi Brinjal/Bhuta Brinjal, English Name: Dwar fegg plant, Scientific name: Solanum ferox

Nature: It is a small 3-4 feet tall plant bearing the fruit. A single brinjal bears a lot of fruit. There are small thorns on the leaves of the tree. It breeds from the inside seeds of the old fruit.

Quality: If there is any ‘flu’, the roots of the chopped brinjal can be small, three peppers, three pieces of brown ginger, a piece of pipli, two drops of garlic, the roots of the pumpkin can be heated in a small pot for five minutes and the juice from it can be chilled and made an antidote medicine by giving half a glass of honey. In case of ‘flu’ or watery fever and cough, this medicine should be taken by the adult patient before taking three spoonfuls of the food every day. Children should eat two spoons a day for three days.

Cooking style: Kharua brinjal can be burnt in fire and crushed with ginger, onions and eaten. Apart from eating in combination with other vegetables, small fish, especially darikana fish, are satiating to cook and eat.
