Severe Flood in Panidihing
Heavy rain continued for several days in Panidihing and the neighbouring areas. As the water level rose, the embankment was breached and floodwater rushed into the villages. Many villagers were forced to take shelter on the roofs of houses and chang-ghars.
People from neighbouring villages immediately rushed to help the flood-affected families, and the civil authorities were also informed. Rafts and boats were quickly made ready for rescue operations. Hundreds of villagers, along with their livestock, were rescued and taken to safer places.
