Ans. When iodine solution is added, the wheat flour in test tube A and the boiled potato in test tube C will change into a blue-black colour. This happens because both wheat flour and potato contain starch, and iodine gives a blue-black colour in the presence of starch. On the other hand, no colour change will be seen in test tube B containing sugar, as sugar does not contain starch and does not react with iodine.

A student filled two test tubes with lime water. He blew air from his lungs into one tube and allowed the other to remain with just room air passing through. After some time, he saw a difference. What concept is being tested and how can he be sure of his conclusion?

Ans. The experiment tests the idea that the air exhaled from our lungs contains more carbon dioxide than the normal air around us.

The student can confirm this by noticing that the lime water in the test tube through which exhaled air was passed turned milky, while the lime water in the other test tube, through which ordinary room air passed, showed little or no change. This happens because carbon dioxide reacts with lime water and makes it milky.

Answer:   The methods of asexual reproduction are–

New plants can be propagated by asexually reproduced seeds or sperm. Then this method is-

Stamens are the pollinating organs of flowers and stamens  are  the female reproductive organs. The fusion of sexually reproducible reproductive cells and female reproductive cells forms the zygote. This mating process is called pregnancy or fertilisation. After the pollen grains, the reproductive cells fuse with the female reproductive cells inside the ovule.
