18 December Minorities Right’s Day

The National Commission for Minorities celebrates December 18 as Minorities Rights Day every year in India. The Commission, which has been playing a special role in protecting the rights of minorities, strives to create necessary awareness through this day. It should be noted that there are religious, linguistic and ethnic minority groups in every country of the world. It is the duty of the state to provide prapa rights to all minority groups irrespective of religion and language. Similarly, attention should also be paid to the minority groups so that they can live with equal rights with the majority while maintaining their own identity and ideology. The UNITED NATIONS has already circulated a special declaration on the state’s responsibility to ensure the rights of minorities. The Declaration was a bold step towards protecting the rights of minorities all over the world. In India, however, since independence, it has been giving equal rights and importance to all types of minorities. For this, independent bodies like the National Commission for Minorities were set up. Minority Rights Diwas has played a positive role in creating awareness about minority rights and promoting understanding among different minority communities.
